Father’s Day Roundup

Father’s Day is right around the corner, and if you’re looking for experiences to fit his predilections and proclivities, you’ve come to the right place! Here’s a roundup of family activities to suit every kind of dad!

For the Adventurer

Is your Dad known for his adventurous spirit? Then you can’t miss the Father’s Day Surf-and-Turf from 2-5 p.m. at York River State Park. Packed with treasure hunting, American history stories, fossils, and exercise, this day on the water is sure to remain in his memory for many years to come.

For the Food Lover

Williamsburg is home to some incredible places to eat, including celebratory food events like Busch Gardens’ Food and Wine Festivalrestaurant week, the Williamsburg Farmers Market and more. Take your pick—your choices are almost endless!

For the Thrill-Seeker

Busch Gardens was just named the most beautiful amusement park in the world for the 28th consecutive year. Yes, you read that right! Since it’s a 10-minute drive from King’s Creek Plantation, spend a day indulging the adrenaline junkie of the family and test out world-class rides and coasters! PLUS: The Food and Wine Festival is included with park admission, so indulge him in an incredible lineup of food, wine, beer and cocktails!

For the History Buff

Williamsburg has been called a living history museum many times over, and for good reason. Between Colonial Williamsburg, the Jamestown Settlement and Historic Yorktown, there’s history everywhere you look. Williamsburg has done an amazing job of preserving its nearly 400-year history. So many important and fascinating milestones in our country’s history have taken place right here, and there’s no shortage of opportunities to get as close to those stories as possible by (almost literally!) stepping back in time. To be able to do that as a family on a day that celebrates fathers is a privilege!

For the Athlete

King’s Creek Plantation partners with these golf courses so our rental guests and owners have access to special rates during their stay! So book a round of golf and spend quality time with Dad on the golf course of his choice as he works on his game!

For the Family Man

Sometimes all a guy wants is for his family to come together and watch a great movie. Luckily, free outdoor movies are playing all summer long at 420 Prince George Street in Williamsburg, and on Father’s Day the feature will be Deep (PG). So grab some lawn chairs, snacks and your favorite people, and relax to a family movie under the stars! Movies start around 8 p.m.!

Every dad deserves to feel special, and if you happen to be staying at King’s Creek Plantation over Father’s Day weekend, it’s easy to give him a day he’ll never forget!
