Celebrate Labor Day in the ‘Burg!

Labor Day is, indisputably, an American holiday. This commemoration of hard work, ingenuity and cooperation is quickly approaching, and you are invited to celebrate in the very place where these American ideals were formed.

Whether you’re a foodie or a history buff, grandmother or college student (or a little bit of everything!), King’s Creek Plantation is the place to be for this all-American holiday!

Busch Gardens Bier Fest

Say goodbye to summer and hello to fall! Labor Day weekend marks the last weekend of this celebratory seasonal event, and you won’t want to miss out! Sample traditional German food and tasty beer from around the world (including local brews!), listen to live music, and experience all this unique Bavarian celebration has to offer. The festival is included with park admission, so snag a few rides on your favorite roller coasters while you’re at it!

Jamestown and Yorktown

There are so many cool exhibits happening at this cultural and historic landmark—which also happens to be the birthplace of America’s hardworking reputation.

This Labor Day weekend, we recommend “AfterWARd: The Revolutionary Veterans Who Built America.” This impressive and patriotic exhibition displays artifacts that illustrate Revolutionary War veterans’ ongoing contribution and influence throughout history. The Veterans featured include well-known figures like George Washington and Alexander Hamilton, as well as lesser-known veterans.

There are so many fun and interactive ways to step back in time and honor our nation’s history in Jamestown and Yorktown. We recommend all of them!

Virginia Symphony Concert at Yorktown

Saturday, September 1

6-9 p.m.

This Labor Day weekend, the scenic Riverwalk Landing in historic Yorktown will host a performance by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. Less than 10 miles from King’s Creek Plantation, this moving experience is the perfect addition to a weekend of memories with your precious family. So pack a blanket or two and enjoy the performance of a renowned orchestra under a canopy of stars! (Your picnic arrangement could win a blue ribbon if it’s creative enough!)

We can’t wait to help make this Labor Day weekend the best yet. Explore all that Williamsburg has to offer…but don’t lose sleep over the details! King’s Creek Plantation is committed to being your home away from home. We offer a variety of lodging options, so you can truly relax during your vacation.

This is America, after all. And after a good holiday, we get right back to work!
